Pioneer PL-530 Platter Mat Ring Color

I found a minty PL-530 at a garage sale in original box.
The Platter Mat Ring is not silver as shown in the following photo:

Most of the photos I've seen of the PL-530 show a silver ring.
Which is correct for the PL-530?

Mine is silver....I bought it new in 1978.

Exactly right. I love this forum. Based on the serial number, my sample was made in 1976. That protective plastic was really stuck on. But the ring looks pristine now. Thanks for the tip.

My best TT there!! The workings of the mechanisms are getting into "top shelf" and when they are working smoothly? You really have something with the PL-530. (Congrats!)
