I picked up a really nice PL-55x about month ago and the antiskate isn't working. Any tips on what to look for -- common problems, and how to fix? I downloaded the service manual from Vinyl Engine and I looked on YouTube but videos specific to repairing the PL-55s. I'm a bit of novice with TT repair so any help you give would be great.

On the underside check the anti-skate assembly. The assembly has a plastic cam, a cam-follower lever, and another lever that has a spring attached. It's possible the cam or one of the levers is stuck (dried, old lubricant) or the spring is missing from one of the levers.

I took it out and repositioned the free level using the service manual diagram and some online photos as a guide -- now it works!
