Pioneer PL-560 vs Technics SL-1600 : Automatic TT Comparison

Hi all!

I am scouting the used market in Montreal right now looking for a vintage fully automatic TT in good shape.

I have come across those two offers :

• Pioneer PL-560 recently serviced with a new cartridge (looks like Audio Technica AT91) at 300$

and

• Technics SL 1600 seller tell me it's working great but had not been serviced.Very good looking condition. Comes with a black grado cartridge. For 400$.

Which one would be the best buy (both sellers are firm on their price)?

Myself I would buy both. But if you can only buy 1 I would get the Pioneer.

Both are very nice options and I like them. Technics does have the superior tonearm and cartridge. The Pioneer's arm is a bit shorter. Either will serve you well and wisely (but with the Pioneer, I'd install a nicer cartridge later when you can afford it).
