Pioneer PL-A45D Cartridge Information

Hello. I have a Pioneer PL-A45D I just purchased. Very clean and love the table. It came with an Audio Technica LS300. The stylus is pretty bad, so I thought I would try and attach a different cartridge I just bought. It is an ADC XLM original version. I am kinda hesitant to do so until someone with more knowledge on this chimes in. DSC03727.JPG Will this cartridge be a good choice for the Pioneer tonearm? Can I put a better version XLM replacement stylus on it? Perhaps a MKll or even a MKlll without troubles? Thanks in advance. J.

Hi Yemm66, I've got he same table and I put an AT95E on it. Sounds great to my ears. Might pick up a little more surface noise than some of my other Pioneers but I think it's a good fit.

Yeah, I've heard really good things about that cartridge. I'm just a bit confused on mass calculation and such.

Hi,

All versions of the XLM are relatively poor matches to your arm.

Unless they are fitted with cheap aftermarket crude styli.

The AT95E is a good match.
