Pioneer PL A45D

Is the lateral counter-weight on a Pioneer PL A45D ( Turntable ) required in order to operate properly ?

The Pioneer PL-530 has a similar configuration.
My was missing the lateral weight too at one point.

I have a counter wieght from the PL 12D II. If you do some research, it may just be the same part for the '45. If you need it, I have it.

The lateral weight is not necessary as long as the turntable is level. No need to compensate for the weight. The counterweight will simply end up sitting slightly farther back on the arm. Simply balance the arm and set tracking force as usual.
