Pioneer pl570

I am looking at buying a pl570 but the auto button does not work. The TT is very clean and all other functions work flawlessly. I know I have read something about that but can't find searching here. Is this easy to fix or is this a sign of problems to come?

If the Auto Start function will not work, and the tone arm will not return after the last track has finished or the Stop button is pressed, then the output gear of the gear motor assembly is probably cracked. This reduces the PL-570 to a manual TT, and should significantly diminish its value.

I am close to finding a working solution, but I don't work fast and am easily distracted. With a replacement part, some mechanical skills and some patience, you could replace the shaft & gear and have a working TT.
