I saw that too. Thought it was pretty cool.
I believe Pioneer made some store demo units of the HPM-100's with clear acrylic cabinets.
 
Makes it kinda ugly. The wood and black metal are a large part what makes these such good lookers.
 
Ain't going for it, and I bet it gets hotter than it should, clear plastic mode didn't help entice it for me.
 
Dealership Demonstration kit - Pioneer was no doubt very proud of their build quality and wanted to show it to the customers.
 
It would go well with my acrylic hpm's but my 1250 is much nicer. Cool to have the set just not installed
 
That figures. The seller has a junk-type store not too far from me(25 miles). I rarely see anything good near Erie. If he would take ALOT less, then I would buy it and restore it to normal.
 
Actually, I have neon case lights (don't ask)! If anyone here gets this and wants to make this the worlds gaudiest 1250 - I'll be happy to help!
