My father had a Pioneer system that he purchased when he purchased through the army when he returned from Vietnam in the early 70’s. I cannot remember if the receiver was either an Sx-727 or 828. I used the system in the 90’s to listen to Pearl Jam and Alice In Chains cd’s and it rocked. The system was sold in an estate sale before I had a home for it.
So, in today’s secondary market which receiver would be worth purchasing (if either, or not at all)? There is nostalgia involved here as well.
I would pair it with Klipsch Kg 4.5 speakers that have been modified with silver wiring.
