Pioneer RG-1 vumeter

Hello, today, I've received my new toy : a Pioneer RG-1 Dynamic processor. But, there is a problem: The right vumeter don't work. I've checked it with an ohm meter. It's broken :(
Is someone known where to get a replacement part ? I live in France.

Thanks.

It will be difficult, but it is possible to open the meter (transparent tape hold them closed) and get a drop of deoxit onto the lower meter pivot point. The top spring is one connection to the meter coil, the lower pivot point is the other connection. DO NOT SPRAY, collect a drop on the end of a long fine wire and touch it to the pivot gently.

Then use a clean wire to move the needle to let the deoxit work.

IF it starts moving on it's own set it up to be kept moving for several days to try to clean the corrosion off the pivot.

It is something to try while watching for a replacement meter. Who knows, the need for a replacement meter may disappear.

The RG-1 is an odd beast. It can be hard to tell if it's working because the effect can be fairly subtle. Add to this the fact that the stereo signal gets somewhat blended together and it can become difficult to diagnose issues.

Anyway, I had the same issue on mine and it was completely resolved by cleaning (Deoxit and Faderlube) the input level pot.

I second the cleaning of the input fader pot. Any problem that I have had with mine seems to be solved with taking care of this issue.

The vumeter is repaired: it was a wire of the spiral in the gavanometer which need to be resoldering. It works perfectly now :)
