Pioneer RT-707 no rack mount

[Thomasahl]

I have an opportunity to buy a very well preseved Pioneer RT-707 at a local e-commerce site. The strange thing is that the machine has no rack mount notches in the faceplate. Were there RT-707's produced without rack mount? The seller says that it has not been machined or altered in any way.

Looks like the faceplate is flush with the cabinet ends.

Wonder is someone milled off the slots?

Looks nice…

Yeah, I thought so too - the milling, that is. But the seller assures me that it has not been tampered with.

Looking through google pictures and there's a few out there without slots. Some might be original but more likely the company that was/is? remaking them doesn't do them with slots.
