Hi Folks,
I'm in the process of restoring the above RtR tape deck. Plenty of dust, the switches and controls need DeoxIT, just general cleanup.
Upon disassembly, I noticed that the right side "Tension Arm Assembly R" (part number RXA-781) must have been 'tramatized' at some point in its life. I could tell that it had been bent and then straightened. The roller mechanism was a little wobbly due to being stressed. This is the part that is spring loaded and touches the tape as it travels.
Also, when it comes to cleaning the actual tape heads... What is the correct solution to use? I have the 91% alcohol, will this work properly?
I do thank you for your time!
