Hi all,
I have a very strange problem... in playback it works perfectly, on a 3 kHz test tape there is no speed fluctuation. However, when I record the same tone, there's a noticeable wow and flutter effect
So far, I've done everything suggested in the forums: cleaned the Molex connectors, the three trimmers on the control board, all contacts and the pitch potentiometer. The pressure roller is clean, and the brakes seem fine (haven't measured the torque yet)
What I observed yesterday is that the capstan shaft has an axial play of 3 mm and a radial play of 1 mm. This could be the cause, but why does it only occur during recording and not during playback?
I'm from Romania, and there aren't many Pioneer techs here. Most people have Revox or Akai decks. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
