Picked up a pair of Pioneer S-710 for free today. Need woofers refoamed. Unfortunately one was turned upside down, top of one and bottom of the other, looking like it was ground into concrete. Anyway, any suggestions to fix it. Vinyl, not wood veneer.

It's possible to remove the damaged vinyl with a heat gun or even a clothes iron. Begin at a corner and once you get it started, the vinyl can come off fairly easily. You would probably have to remove any remaining adhesive residue by wiping with a solvent. Then lightly sand with 120 grit. After that you could re-apply new vinyl or veneer.

Where would I get the new veneer?

If you want real wood or vinyl veneer, Parts Express has it. Also Oakwood is an excellent source. I'd recommend using paper backed veneer of you want to glue it down. Some veneers are also available with self adhesive backing so no additional glue is necessary.
