Hi,
No need to ask, yes I'm a beginner so I am asking the professionals for help.
I am trying to repair this Pioneer but I cannot find anyware the correct diagrams for the Pioneer SA-5500 Type S. The diagrams for Type KU I have but apparently there are a lot of differences between the type S and KU.
Does anyone have this diagram and is willing to send me a picture please?
Thanks !

Type "S"?
SA-5500II, "KU" and a "KC". Both are 120v
Maybe yours is a multi voltage unit? Other than the transformer and primary windings the guts should be close to the same.

What's wrong with it?

Hi, The problem I encounter is that all the measured Voltages I measure make no sense to the ones at the diagram. For example, at DS-150A I should measure 25.2V but I measure 52.6V. At pin 33 I should measure 31.5V and I measure 53,1V, etc...
All voltages I measure are way too high according to the diagram.

Hi LesE, yes it is set to 240V.
According to the 110/120V diagram the secondary windings of the transfo should have 4 wires (Green / Blue / Black / Red) but the transfo in my device has a lot of other wires coming out and it makes no sense to me where they are attached at.
The service manual you can find on the internet is only showing the US diagram.

The voltages are in AC out of the transformer. :dunno:
Got a Variac?

The following shows the connections for another multivoltage amplifier. The SA-5500II is probably different so this is just for the purpose of illustration.

Are all "these" wires you speak of, tied off, or are they connected to something?
Had someone used a universal transformer in place of the original?
