Can anyone help with the correct replacement lamps for these 2 units . I have found some threads on a 8v/55ma axial meter lamp and also 8v/100ma . Does the ma matter ? Any sources of places to get these replacement lamps. All the lamps on both units need replaced! Thanks for any help

sa-606 = sa-6700
This amp's power indicators and peak indicators are LEDS, and uses two 8v 55ma incandescent bulbs to illuminate the meters. They are part of a purpose built transistor regulator circuit. 50mA bulbs from dgwojo should work just fine. Substitutions with more current will be a PITA.
The manual is not helpful as to any of the bulb's dimensions. the ones of dgwojo's that I speak of are 4mm with bottom leads - not fuse types.

tx-606 = tx-6700
This is a different animal, it uses a LED power indicator (13v, 470 ohm series resistor), a LED stereo indicator(a strange little circuit),a 8v 100mA pointer bulb and two 8v 55mA bulbs, with all three directly connected across the 8v transformer winding - thus their current isn't critical.
The manual is not helpful as to any of the bulb's dimensions.

Thanks Mark i will see what i acn do with this , i did open it up today and the meter bulbs 8v/55ma are in these sealed housings. Looks to hace a tape or foil type tape on the bottom , would this have to be removed . Its the only way i can see to get to the bulb.

You will see if you look closley a piece of clear tape on the top folding over to the back of the meter and a similar one on each side. cut this clear magic tape where it folds over to the back of the meter, with an exacto knife, and the meter will open like a clamshell. Do not remove the chrome tape going around the meter. When done replacing the bulbs put the meter back together with clear tape over the existing clear tape in the same mannor.
cheers Wolfgang

Hi I am looking to replace the same bulbs in my tx-6700 tuner. I have not found these online - any advice on searching for these bulbs for the 2 meters?

Thanks

AK'er dgwojo is our lamp guy, PM him....

IF he doesn't know what sizes, then you'll have to open the unit and eyeball the sizes
OR
wait until harleyrider locates his bulbs and finds out the sizes.

So was looking for a solution and finally used some of those flat leds to replace tx-606 bulbs in the dials and on the pointer. Had to glue the replacement on the pointer. In dials it's necessary to turn leds downwards or else the result would be too bright. And it's better not to leave any dust or pet hair inside the dials, when putting them back together :) On the photo the amp has original bulbs.
