Pioneer SA-7800 just went quiet

Hi guys,

I bought a beautiful SA-7800 last night. It worked great for an hour but then I accidentally jogged the turntable (Technics SL-19 if that matters) skipping the needle and the amp went quiet. Couple seconds later I saw an orange flash and fade in what seemed to be the back left corner. No noise, no smoke, no smell. Amp front LED still works as does channel selector swItch, just no sound.

I'm aware that capacitors get old and need replacing - is ii likely a capacitor that blew? Or in not what is most likely diagnosis?

First thing to do is unplug the receiver and take the cover off.
there are 3 fuses in the back. check those first.

I would check your speakers too after you sent a low frequency, high wattage signal to them......
Low pass filters exist for a reason.

If you did fry a channel, which I'm guessing you did, check the output transistors if you know how. They are a case size not produced anymore, so you'll probably have to send it to a tech.

Thanks. Fuses are OK must have fried a channel. That will teach me to be a clumsy ass. I believe the subsonic filter switch was on though. Maybe my speakers survived...
