Pioneer SA-900

Just acquired a Pioneer SA-900. It powers on! Is there a chance this amp could be functional and not require servicing after sitting in a closet for 25 years? Does it have desirable sound characteristics? Funky looking speaker connector inputs.

Welcome to AK, yes, it is possible to have a working one with good sound.

However, many components WILL have degraded. Whether this is audible for you or not, depends, as well whether specific sound is desirable which mainly depends on loudspeakers and acoustics.

Myself, I like the build quality, as well as having sturdy real switches as tone controls instead of potentiometers.

Definately a nice to have amp. I presume it was expensive during its days.
