Hi!
I've read several posts on this, but i do not want to hijack an old thread.
I have a SA-9100 that worked great until i wanted to clean the front panel, in doing so the volume knob was really stuck on the potentiometer shaft so when i pulled it off it must have been damaged in some way.
The result is the following:
- With the volume knob fully counter clockwise i have a high noise floor, goes away as i turn it cw
- If i turn it just some millimeter beyond ccw i get sound in left channel
- At 1 o clock you can feel that there is a 'stop' in the potentiometer, slight left/right movement around this point gives unpredictable results.. if i turn it past this point the volume balances up and the sound is good and balanced.. as i move towards fully clockwise the right channel takes over again and fully clockwise the volume mutes.
- Volume in left channel does not level in balance until ~2 o clock
That's a lot of info for saying
don't shoot me i broke the pot at some point.
The SA-9100 seems to have a unique volume potentiometer? Should it be considered as unobtanium?
Is there any chance that the pot could be taken apart and repaired by someone?
Its in really good condition apart from this, some switch might need a bit of deoxit but other than that i was super happy with it. I'm not ready to decomission it yet..
