Pioneer SA7800

Hi all
I have a problem with my SA7800 amp. Up until today everything was as it should be, but now i cant get any sound from the right channel.
The left channel makes a clicking sound. I have swapped the speakers over and the same thing happens. So the speakers are ok.
Any advice greatly received. Thank you.

The issues you are describing for your unit are pretty general and typical for these audio warriors from the analogue days. There are many components any one of which can bring down a channel and the loss of a channel is a common one with this old gear. Your SA7800 is widely discussed on Audiokarma. Learn how to search on the forum and you will be surprised what you will find.

Your early diagnostic efforts are a start on the necessary course of action for a successful repair/restoration. You now know that the issue is with the right channel but you need to go deeper and this requires digging into the unit to isolate the cause. You are now at a "fork in the road" on how to next proceed. Get it fixed by a specialist or DIY.
I recommend reading the various threads on the SA7800. The SA7800 is a fairly complicated unit and you should think about a qualified service technician or experienced DIY person for this one. Not sure what your skill set is but this units is not an easy learning experience if you want to try to do it yourself. Go to U-Tube and watch some videos on vintage audio subjects.

There is a repair video on U-Tube on the SA7800 and see if you want to learn how to fix/maintain legacy audio. Plenty of good subject matter on Pioneer stuff.
