Hi,
I have a Pioneer SA8500 (series 1) in very good condition. However, it has recently developed a problem. After playing it for a while, it starts making a loud crackling noise. I have cleaned all switches, including the power. The noise is not affected by the volume control or any other control 9except when I switch off the speakers, and even then, it still goes through the headphones. I have to think that it must be something beyond the pre-amplifier. I checked the power outlet connections (plug and socket), the plug seems fine, and when I connected it to another socket, it still does the same thing. Any idea what could be happening?
Thanks very much for your help.
George
