Saw an Amazon banner ad showing these for 65 each and free shipping! Turned out to be true and hard to resist. Been using the BS41's as a sound bar alternative and been very happy for the 99 I spent for those. I miss my departed ProAc Studio 150's and NHT SuperTwo's - have soft spot for smallish floorstanders - Looking forward to hearing what these 52's can do for a ridiculously low cost.

That's a great deal, I saw that yesterday and am having a hard time convincing myself I don't need them. I've had the 22's for a couple months in the bedroom and they sound great, after a couple weeks I started looking at the 52's for the living room and have almost bought them a couple times but I think I'll keep the living room all 1970's gear, and I don't have room for them in the loft with the 80's system.

Not sure if I should post in this two year old thread.......but......the title is exactly what is happening with me today. My constant watching on ebay paid off and one well known seller has them, new units for about $97 shipped each, verses $127 each on amazon.com. This is a $60 savings for the pair I just ordered. I've read dozens of nothing but positive reviews on them plus some on youtube as well. I expect they should sound a bit better than the polk R40's which have been my best speakers up to now. Will report back after they arrive and have had a first test session. I waited several months so kind of excited to hear these Andrew Jones budget wonders. The curved cabinets will be different and nice. :king:

I got the same deal as the OP and am very happy with these speakers. They're used in a 2.0 system with a small TV, but I could be satisfied with them in my main system. Some claim that a subwoofer is needed, but that hasn't been my experience.

By the way, I was just reading reviews of these for fun and found out that speakers with higher sensitivity are better. Of course, I understand this particular review is written for a different audience.

Thanks for your response. I'm happy to hear your comment about not needing a sub, and others have said that as well. In my youth (I'm 60), subwoofers were not heard of yet, or at least they were not common like now. That, plus I need to keep the neighbors happy. Newer generations of audio geeks tend to be more bass focused I suspect, having come up in the age of thump-thump-boom-boom car stereos on the streets everywhere. Good tight bass is important, but I prefer it come from just the normal left right speakers.

I'm not sure if the more complex eight component crossover networks (as in these FS-52's) reduce speaker efficiency....but I seem to notice most cheap speakers tend to have greater sensitivity, having only a single bass blocking capacitor on the tweeter feed. My previously owned 105 watt per channel yamaha AV-50, late 1980's amp should be able to rock the new pioneer's to an acceptable dull roar at least.
