I have a pioneer sx-1010, the phono 1 indicator lamp is out. Is there an easy way to get to and change the bulb? I had the front panel off and still thought it was not accessible. At least not from the front. How do you change the bulb?

It's a chore.
Remove the front face.
Remove the bottom.
Remove the Tone and control boards.
Remove the Filter and Function switch boards.
Do not remove any wire-wrap connections. The loose boards will allow enough slack in the wires to access the lamp and solder connections.
Best to have the set on it's back.
Be careful around the power supply board as it's close and easily damaged.
Good time to clean the switches and controls.
When reassembling, double check the wire-wrap connections for security.

And if any wires break off, just loop it around the pin and solder it on. DO NOT UNWRAP any wires from PINS. Best to unsolder the pin from the board, AFTER you've marked it for the hole #. Loosen the tie wraps on the wire bundles to get slack, to get the boards out. You can tie-wrap them back up again afterwards.
