Pioneer sx-1010 quit playing

Help please. my sx-1010 quit playing. it started to pop out of speakers and before i could get to stereo the damn thing quit playing. i didn't smell anything burning, all lights still function and my graphic EQ shows that sound is still being produced. any and all help greatly appreciated.

Has the unit been serviced before? If not, it may be time. It sounds as if a tr gave up. Maybe in the preamp.....or the amp.
Do you have any basic test equipment? DMM?

it has not been serviced and i dont have any test equipment. i have some electricians at work but i dont think they know anything about stereo equipment. lol

Then it is going to be quite hard for us to help you. Do you have another amp so you can test the pre-amp and amps of the sx1010? You can do this by connecting an external amp to the sx1010 via its pre-out/main in connections on the rear.

i have an sx-650. will that work? and if so how do i hook it up to the 1010?

Does the sx650 have pre-out/main-in connections? I doubt it.................otherwise you need an amp....or a preamp.

First thing to get is a DMM..........
