is it worth buying a new power supply board for the sx 1980?
the receiver i have now is in working condition but thinking of replacing the power board with the remade one on ebay
& buying the caps for all the boards including the 4 Big Caps.

Do you think the PS board is an easy replacement?
I've watched a few videos on replacing the caps it looks like alot of work but guessing it can be done
I Live in Harford County Maryland does anyone work on these receivers in my area
let me know thanks

It is my opinion that it is a good investment. I bought one of the first ones that were available a few years ago that had the hot transistors remotely mounted on the big heat sinks, and it has worked flawlessly every since. All the voltages are rock solid, the entire stereo runs cooler as well. The original awr 154s run really hot and the newer design helps that.

If you do decide to rebuild the one you have, there are a lot of tips on here (AK) to make the original better than it was. If you search for them.

Its value added IMHO.
Get into the original and it’s like a 50/50 chance the PS has been repaired.
Some times from a butcher.
Save the original board in case you want to donate it to the Smithsonian.
