Recently purchased Pioneer Sx 1980 that has 1 bass and treble knob. missing. Anyone know where to purchase these items. Also looking to download SX 1980 Operating Instructions maunal. I Picked up this amp for an amazing $100.00. along with a fully functional SX 1010 for $40.00 dollars.

eBay is full of auctions for knobs and such. Any knob from a SX-xx80-series receiver will fit.
 
Thanks, However I' notice that xx80 knobs have a long grove from base to top rarther than the sc xxx8 knobs which only have to and middle notch, plus was told xx80 knob was weighted a little more . Have been searching e-bay. Thanks anyway
 
Wow! Where did you get a deal like that? You know you are going to find those two knobs, but they are going to cost you $500 each.
 
Sorry...I don't know what a 'sc xxx8' knob is.

All the receivers (SX-580 to SX-1980) used the same knobs for many functions, such as tone and balance controls, and the toggle lever caps. The volume knobs and tuner knobs were different on some models (size & knurled vs set screw), and the TOTL models had additional knobs, such as cartridge loading, but the rest were the same.

Watch the auctions, and you'll find them. Should be able to get what you need for under $30.

If someone can POSITIVELY VERIFY that the 1280 knobs are the same as the 1980 ---Then I might be able to help.
I have a parts 1280 --but no 1980 to match it to.
My memory tells me they look alike but not sure .
I don't want to let a knob go unless I know for sure it will match.
My suggestion is to look up the part numbers and see if they are the same.

I think the guy didn't realize model so I gave him him asking price of $100.00, it'a little dirt but functions/sound great

Good deal, I was 2nd in line if you didn't get it. One heck of a find. BTW all the xx80 series knobs are the same at least on my 980, 1080,2-1280's & my1980 are.
