It Didn't Sell

It's funny that it didn't sell, cause for awhile back a couple of months ago, they were selling like crazy, and for good prices too.

I recently picked one up on the bay for $40, $20 plus $20 shipping. I hope to check it out and have it ready for my garage sale come May.

I just got one of those this week... $40 including a tape deck, a portable CD player and a pair of Advent/3 speakers. It actually had very good definition... although methinks the Advants have something to do with that even though the 3 isn't supposed to be Advant's best work.

I still need to deoxit the controls, dust the inside and clean the faceplate... otherwise it's a nice unit and all the bulbs appear to work.

The SX-3700 evidently goes for peanuts but is certainly a good deal. :thmbsp:

I found one at GoodWill about a year ago for $20.00.
Use it in the garage and love it. Well worth $75.00 IMHO

I'm betting that, had the seller started the auction at a few bucks, he'd have sold it for his starting bid, at least. I know it's not always the case, but my experience has been that you stand a better chance of selling if you start low, gather interest (casual/curious shoppers hit "watch this item") and let the auction take its natural course. I remember I had a Marantz 2215B with a "Buy it Now" for $45, and was displeased when a bidder grabbed my $9.95 starting bid within a few hours. The Marantz ended up selling for $50, so that went well.

Anyway, checking the completed auctions shows SX-3700s have been selling at what I consider high prices, tempting me to auction two of the three in my inventory.
