Maybe. they are original #'ed. From the looks of the board, someone got hamhanded and dropped something heavy and punctured the board. Also fairly sloppy soldering work. It can be fixed with some out of the box thinking, and some inexpensive parts.

Like I said in post #8, parts for a recap and retransistor is about $20.00 from mouser. The 434 is a fairly simple unit to repair, but someone already gaffed the board so some out of the box thinking is needed to bring it up to snuff.

thanks for the input everyone

if i had to take a wild guess someone cutted a jumper while aligning the power amplifier (if i got the pdf right), and then did a sloppy work reconnecting the jumper (the hole is where the jumper was/is)

on more positive news, a friendly shop that sells top quality hi-fi offered to discover the problem free of charge, since everything i know was self-taught, im gonna go with a expert opinion

darn , not a expert but it does look like a sloppy soldering job

got a special affect for it, but no way im gonna drop money to fix it

atm only A and B left work, before i had one speaker connected to A right, and another to B left, the speakers are low power pioneer bought with the amp

ok, both channels working now after i swaped fuses (no spares and they're the same) but the right one sounds bad and distorted, completelely puzzled now

Wait....you moved some fuses around and things started to work?

Either there is a bad solder joint messing with you or its "dirty" and needs a good deoxit cleaning (which it SHOULD hae before you go looking for something that needs fixing).

Why do you not hook 1 pair of speakers up to one set of outputs?
One on Left and one on Right of A or B. Not one on each of both....
(not that it matters, its just wierd the way you hooked it up).
Haing both speakers on one set (A OR B) at least puts both on one switch position.

unless my older brother is lieing or my dad forgot, it was never open before since 1976, even if it was open, a soldering iron was never there, since both have 0 soldering skills (like me)

Uhhhm, did he buy this receiver new from Crazy Eddies by any chance? Before Eddie Antar decided to take the money and run he was having his service guys "repair" broken or factory defective gear and seal it back up to sell as brand new gear. The repair techs supposedly did some sloppy repair work, so maybe you've got a little piece of audio infamy there!

nop, it started working badly when i cranked the volume up, nothing to do with fuses, my bad

nop, bought in Portugal, also no idea why i had the speakers that way

- anyway, i delivered it earlier today to the shop, just have to wait now
