Pioneer SX-525 needs some TLC

Hi all at AK. I have come to you for help. I am the owner of a Pioneer SX-525. I've had it in my possession since 2003. Bought at an estate sale for DIRT cheap ($35). It's been in my garage, hooked up to a pair of Utah speakers since then with absolutely no complaints. It probably gets more use than my "home" stereo in the summer months and I have really come to love the thing (and its wacky speaker clips). Anyways, the past couple of months it's been crying out for some TLC. I noticed a bulb went in the front display and now, the left protection fuse is CONSTANTLY blowing. I've tried all the fixes I could think of (no speaker wire shorts, swapped RCA cables, used the correct fuse, etc...) but I think it's time for some TLC at the hands of someone who knows what's up.

I am located in West Babylon, NY and I have NOT found anyone who's capable of giving this thing a once over. I'd like to switch the front bulbs out for some nice fresh (BRIGHT) LEDs and give the rest of the thing an overhaul, see what's blowing the protection fuse, etc. I am willing to ship this out as well if anyone knows who/where I can send this too with a fairly quick turn around as July-September is my prime time garage listening zone. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance!

UrbanRadio in Windsor Ct. is probably closer. http://www.urban-antiqueradio.com/ They do a lot of tube stuff but they also do early Solid State stuff too. Very good work.

I listed Urban Radio 1st because you are in NEW York, but Urban Radio is closer. Check them both out tho.

Hello Gang, did this issue get resolved?
Im having the same problem, although I know exactly what what caused it just nohow to fix it.
I was trying to test the voltages of the output cap when I touched it with another leg of the Transistor and it blew the protection fuse.
Now I can't get the right channel to work, keeps blowing fuses. I know I know ... i need to be more careful- Im sick that I caused it but can anyone please tell me where I should start looking for the problem I don't see anything blown visibly.
One strange thing is I did the same thing (on purpose) on the left channel to see what it might blow and give me an idea where to start. It blew the fuse of course, I changed it and left channel works fine?
So for whatever reason it keeps blowing fuses right side protection. This 525 has been professionally recapped and new output Trans recently, sounded and worked fine before I jacked it up last night.
Any clue what i did?
 
Ok, Im guessing your are saying I blew the output transistor or transistors?
I have tried to test them with a meter in circuit but the results are shaky and different every time I check them and thats how I got into this mess in the first place.
Thanks for the info, I can replace the Trans if i can determine its bad but I do not know about the white "heat sink" stuff usually painted around these outputs on most every amp Ive seen. I'm assuming its necessary or it wouldn't be there right ?
Is there a list anywhere that show the correct voltages for the pins on the PS and AMP boards so I can check those as well? I have a 770 Im working and have the values for those but not this one unless they are close to the same?
