Hello! I have recently acquired a Pioneer sx535 that hadn't been used for a minimum 15+ years. When I first got it it was working fine but I haven't had the time to really use it and have just connected it a few times to try it and have only played maybe 1-2 hours on it since I got it. One thing that I started noticing however was sometimes when I turned it on the volume was extremely quiet on the right channel. If I for example measure and compare the ac voltage between the working left channel and the right channel I have roughly 0.002 VAC on the right when I have 0.2 VAC on the left.
The thing that is strange to me is that it sometimes works perfectly when I power it on and those times that it powers up without a issue I am not getting any dropouts whiles listening to it. So basically if it worked when I powered it on, it will work until I power it off. But now more often than not it seems to not be working. Hopefully I didn't break anything...
I have measured all the voltages on the right channel amplifier and they seem fine. I have attached them below. The volume also changes when I turn the volume knob so I think the issue lies on the amplifier board (but I might be wrong).
My sx-535 is unmodified meaning that it contains some "known bad" transistors and also have a few small blue sanyo capacitors that seem to be hated on this forum. The thing is that I don't know if I want to go in and modify it without knowing roughly where the problem lies since it's quite often now that I don't get any sound making it hard to actually test my repair in stages. Do you guys have any Idea where I should start looking? Is it right for me to assume that the problem is on the amplifier board? Shipping for the transistors is also verry expensive so I would rather buy all the transistors I might need in one go. I found a thread on here where someone sudgested all the transistors to swap in the sx-535 and what to supsititute them for. I have attached them in the same excell sheet as my voltages below. I have also attached the scematic for the amplifier board
