One of my favorite vintage recievers,the other being the Concept 16.5,which I sold about a year ago and still regret. I had the reciever partially restored,rebuilt power supply and boards,new filter caps,and high output transistors. Put a bookended zebra wood veneer over the basic black wooden vase and new LEDs. It bench tested over 200 watts at 8 ohms and almost 400 at 4 ohms. Not that you ever use more than about 10 or 20 watts,but it's nice to have.
It is a beautiful piece with the black face,something about that just gets to me.

Those 55xx Pioneer Black/Silver® receivers look great and many of them are very nice performers. How about some pics of your unit? Mine, a 5580, is still wearing it original tuxedo jacket.
 
I had mine completely recapped and it tested out at 210 watts per channel. It sounds really good now and yes it is a beautiful piece.
 
The Euro black look is appealing, not that the silver isn't also attractive. I have several SX-780s, but the best looking one is a 790, even though they are intended to be aural machines, not visual machines.
