Pioneer SX-580 HELP

Good evening everyone,

Just finished recapping a Pioneer SX-580. Still need to replace the dreaded D712 transistor on the power amp, the two main 6800uF caps, plus a 6.8uF cap on the main board. Just ordered the parts from digikey and they should be showing up at the end of the week.

In the meantime, I've been testing as I go and confirming that sound is coming out, and everything had been working just fine.

As I was going to hook it up to my system, I did one last test. I set it to FM, I got sound for a brief second through my headphones, then no sound, the L/R power level meters went all the way to the right, then the receiver produced a hum, and nothing else. When I turned it off, I heard what sounded like a relay being triggered - almost like a "clack" rather than a "click", and it sounds like it's close to one of the STK packs, but I'm not 100% sure.

Has anyone every experienced anything like this? This is really weird.

Not sure where to go next as this is the first time this happened. Any advice would be helpful!

TIA....JP
