Pioneer SX-650 Left Channel Failing Only On Phono

Hi!

I have a Pioneer SX-650 receiver I bought just over a month ago, supposedly freshly serviced, from a record store. In the past couple of weeks, the left channel has been falling out randomly. I swapped the L-R on my turntable (Pioneer PL-510A) and the left still fell out, so I know it's in the receiver. I sprayed some Deoxit in the phono RCA jacks, the loudness and mono/stereo switches and the volume and balance pots, but it's still falling out or even coming through with less power than the right at times. I've taken the cover off, but it appears all of the soldering for the inputs is underneath. Am I gonna have to take this whole thing apart just to see? Any tips?

problem is maybe tape monitor or input selector switch .. or the phono amp may have problems ..deal with the switches first

Thanks! Would it make any difference to know the left RCA phono input makes a loud buzzing sound when the cable is first inserted?

both channels will do that if it is the first cable inserted .. it does sort of mean that channel is working as it happens .

I too thought 'input selector switch' since that wasn't in your initial list.

You ideally want to ensure that your volume is right down before connecting any RCA cables to the sockets to prevent any noises or buzzes potentially being amplified by the poweramp section and possibly damaging your speakers.
