Pioneer SX-650 vs Realistic STA-2080

Hi Guys,

I need some Help! and I'm turning to the brains trust. Also this is my first time posting, long time stalker though.

I have the opportunity to purchase either a refurbished Pioneer SX-650 or a Realistic STA-2080. Both in great condition with the SX being professionally re veneered as well. Both are exactly the same price.

I'm running a Marantz 6300 and JBL TLX 16's the good dutch ones.

What would be the better match? 30wpc on the Pioneer or 80wpc on the STA?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I’m totally biased... I’d go with the 2080.
Nice units, plus the added power of the 2080 over the 650 is just more headroom.

Can you audition both in your setup and then choose?
Your ears will tell you which to choose

Unfortunately not. One is local and the other is a in another town. I'm so confused. Both are equally as sexy as the other.
