Pioneer sx-680 sets off dim bulb tester

Hi guys. I’ve got a school-680 with a problem. I get a hum from the right channel and the dim bulb lights bright. Major static. I thought it was the STK, but if I install either one in left channel, everything is okay. And either one in the right channel is bad. I’m stuck. Any ideas? I can solder and test with a digital meter. But no other equipment. Thanks in advance.

At this point you have pretty much proved out the STK packs are OK. That leaves whatever is in circuit driving them.

First thing to check is the DC voltages on the STK in the right channel. Negative meter lead to the chassis. Be very careful you don't slip and short pins.
If you have mini grabber leads they are usually safer/better.

Pin 1 -1.4 VDC
Pin 2 -34 VDC
Pin 9 34 VDC
Pin 0 1.4 VDC In my mind it is really pin 10
Pin 3 Near 0 VDC
Pin 8 Near 0 VDC

Lets see what that gives us.
