I have an sx 680,that works perfect, and looks great, but I modified the cabinet. The vinyl veneer was peeling in several spots,so I stripped it all off,and re-veneered the cab with real walnut veneer.I stained it with gunstock 231 stain. How much would the veneer increase the value of this receiver?

If it's in really excellent cosmetic condition and works fine, around $130.
Depends upon buyer if that color is liked or not.
It should bring value same as good original veneer instead of peeling one at least.

personally I don't think the veneer would add value to the receiver. It may help it sell quicker but would it say add $30-$50 in value vs a stock one probably not. I'd say people look more at buying a functional unit. Things like adding veneer to a mid level unit to me is just more a labor of love rather than an enhancement of value

Hold out for $150 on the auction site. You'll get it. People love real wood on 1970's Pioneer.

A few years later here in June 2016 I just picked up this wonderful little receiver professional serviced with warranty $ 245.00 here in Los
Angeles area. I have ordered vinyl wood grain wrap to redo the sides and top.
