I’m working in restoring a pioneer sx-727 receiver. I’ve replaced every electrolytic capacitor in the receiver. When I’m finished I have very very low FM volume, AM seems fine. I took some liberties with the size of the capacitors. Replacing the .33uf with 1uf, ect. These were the notorious lite blue caps. Is it critical to have the correct size capacitors? I assumed the occilator circuits used films caps.
The next step in the circuit is the CR assembly which appears to just be resistors on a board then the head amp. The phono stage works fine so I believe the head amp is ok.voltage is good to tuner at 12.5v.
I have my qualms with the quality of pioneer sx receiver boards would it be easier at this point to replace the tuner board? Anyone have any ideas where to start testing the tuner board?
