Hi,
I bought a Pioneer SX 727. I noticed two things. One, the bass knob doesn’t go full power, it goes only 3/4s of the way. In addition, whenever i turn from fm to phono or other, there is quite a loud static noise.

The bass knob is probably misaligned on the shaft. Turn the bass all the way down and see if the mark on the knob lines up with the minimum mark on the face. if not, pull it off and reinstall it in the correct position.

Thank you very much for the info. I did take the bass knob and pull it off. I did align the knob line and minimum mark on the face. However, it still did not go all the way. I took all knobs off to clean them too, but now my treble knob is doing the same, joy.
