Pioneer SX-750 vs. HK 330C

I've heard so many good things about the Pioneer SX-x50 line that I wanted to try it. Also, one minor thing that my 330C has is that the signal strength meter does not work. If I tap a few times, it moves to the middle (around 5) and then it just gets stuck there.

Could have the situation I ran into with an old Pioneer SX-1500TD. I believe on that one it was the center tuning meter that would go to one side freely but get stuck when it swung to the other side. Usually tapping would free it up. Getting the meter loose and looking from the side it appeared the scale piece had become unglued from the backing. Opened it up and re-bonded it with a clear adhesive after carefully scraping most of the old adhesive. Delicate surgery does not take much to wreck that fine little needle arm or the mechanism.

The SX-750 will have some components on the power supply board that NEED to be changed. If it hasn't been rebuilt, or you don't want to pay or perhaps do it yourself, I would stick with the 330.

I've re-done 6 or 7 of the 750's, and I own one. If you have a 750 that is in original working condition, it will not perform like it once did. They do benefit from a replacement of components and setting of offset and bias.

Thanks for the advice. I'm sticking with my 330C for now. I'm working on restoring a 430 which would be a step up from the 330C. @EastPoint is helping me out on this one. I'll keep everyone up to date on how it goes!
