Pioneer SX-780 Channel Imbalance

Just realized today after fiddling around that my unit's right channel sounds as if the loudness function is permanently on. This was confirmed by the fact that the meters run evenly when loudness is actually on, whereas the right channel is visibly and audibly louder otherwise.

I cleaned the loudness switch and the other pots and switches diligently to no avail. Anybody out there have a similar experience to this?

Clean and lube the volume pot. Deoxit and follow-up Fader 5.
Really, if you haven't, clean all the controls. The signal goes through every one of them.
Replace the two low leakage 1uf/50v's C207/208 with Nichion ULK's or better - films.

For posterity, I figured I'd offer an update in that I managed to find an unusual fix. After what felt like hours of cleaning, I had the idea to nudge the loudness switch over to the left by applying a moderate amount of pressure. Turns out this did the trick.

Not sure about the scientific explanation behind this, but it works at least for now.
