Pioneer SX-828 Pops and Cracks like from electricity into right channel

Hey I'm facing this problem with my SX-828. No matter of volume, input source. There are sometimes really loud popping sounds into right channel.

It's very sporadic issue. One time, receiver was working fine for a week, every day playing for 3 - 4 hours without issues. But then popping appeared out of nowhere, while I was sitting on the couch and doing nothing with the unit. Second day, popping appeared right after I turned the unit on.

I'm attaching YouTube videos with problem recorded:

Here is one random pop after 50 mins of playback:

Problem still persist on different speakers, different speaker cables and another speaker output (B, C). Also I have tried to unplug everything from unit but speakers, problem still persists.

I tried to look up this problem on the internet, I found similar issues, but not exactly these pops like from mains. Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

Has the unit been worked on? I would first pull the bottom cover and see if the big filter caps have leaked.

When it's doing this, pull out the rear preamp jumpers. Does the noise stop? If so, then it's probably bad preamp board transistors. If not, then it's bad amplifier board transistors. Lots of bad transistors in the SX-828.

I had this happen to a SX1010 that I recently bought as a non working unit. Had two open fuses F5 and F6, and when those were replaced it worked. But when the volume was increased it had the same poping you are experiencing. Do not use this unit until it is fixed.

I purchased a rebuild kit from Eastpoint and it is currently playing sweet music as I type this. There are many 'shoot on site' transistors in these early 70's units. I also have a sx-828 that will be going under the knife later this Winter. Good luck.
