Pioneer SX-828?

If the seller knows what he is doing, and did in fact do everything he listed, I would say that's a fair to good price for that piece. It is after all, TOTL for that series....:thmbsp:

IIRC, I paid $80 for mine, unrestored, and with a DL # engraved on the upper LH corner of the faceplate....:tears:

BTW, that receiver is an under appreciated beauty. I like it as much, maybe more than my SX-1250. It's just not quite a gorilla like the 1250....:smoke:

Fabulous receiver!

Top of the line in its time. I sold a lot of them.

$120 is probably a little high, but pickings may be slim in your area and it is a classic!

Have a look in person and listen to it. Test ALL functions. Then use every ding, dent, chip and fault to get the seller down to a Franklin.

Then, take it home and love it!

Ditto...A Benny would be good....:thmbsp:

As i'm currently fixing a sx-727 (one minor step down) the build quality on these receivers is amazing. If everything works, and there are no dents scuffs or anything it may be worth it. Biggest factor would be the potentiometers (volume, etc.) having scratchiness...sounds like this unit has been cleaned and serviced. Probably sounds really good, from the brief test of my 727, I loved it:yes:.
