Pioneer SX-939, $60 BIN

Bent up power switch, missing knobs and dinged up a little? $60 seems a little steep to me for a 939 in that kinda condition. Especially since I just picked up mine in perfect conditon from my local used audio dealer for $100.70. I'd rather pay a bit more and get something that doesn't look like it fell out of the back of a pick up but that's just me. Good luck to who ever bought it though.

That was my exact thinking, and I am happy with my sx-950.

Quibbling over a few pennies

I don't know but to me it looks like a bargain. What you have there is a totl Pioneer vintage period receiver. The 1010 came as a later introduction in the model year. What this means is that there were no compromises in its design of the amp, preamp or tuner. Look at the 8 discreet T03 outputs and full dc coupling. Look at the -110 db sn ratio. Look at the 80 db alternate channel selectivity. Very nice stuff. Also this has the classic blue dial styling nicer in my opinion that the stainless steel look if the x50 and x80 series. add 2 headphone and 2 mic jacks, very nice phono section, external proc loop and 2 tape monitors, international power supply, dimmable brightness, very usefull tone contols 4 of em and you have a bargain in my opinion. The knobs are very easy fixes just slide em on. If you look carefully you will see a very nice face plate and cabinet.
