Hello guys, Wondering what speakers you guys have tried. I realize that it is a subjective matter. I tend to like the warmer fuller sound that one gets from a tube type system. I did hear some Marantz Prestige Series 1230s that just sounded wonderful! Thanks, Guys!!!

Don't know what your budget is but some JBL's like the L100, L36 would be a nice match,IMO. I have the L-36 model and they sound great and I think they have that warm sound you speak of.

Thank you for the info! Ooo, $1,000 for the L100 so the L36 looks inviting just for the cost. Do you have a guess as to the size of your L36s? Again, thank you for your information and time!

Any speakers will work fine. I am not sure how the speakers will give you the warm sound you desire. I use large 3 cu ft sealed cabinets with 15" woofers, Morel MDM55 midranges, MDT30 tweeters, sounds great imo.

Thanks, rcs16, bear with me as I am trying my best to collate everything I am learning. I have heard systems that seem to fill the room, not with volume but perceived fullness, a depth if you will. I have heard this with Marantz and Pioneer receivers. The Marantz came through Marantz Prestige Series 1230 speakers. I was amazed with what I will describe as an envelopment of sound. I just figured it was the speakers.

They are 13.5" w, 24" h, and 13.25 deep. I have a pair that might be going on CL but I haven't decided yet. They really sound great so I might keep them. Good luck.

I have SX950... and more speakers than I should have. For the money large Advents (OLA) with new foam and new caps are very economical and sound great / less forward than than my L36s.

I have ADS, JBLs, Infinity, Ohm, Boston, Polk SDA, Klipsch KG4, Pioneer HPM... OLA are what I listen to on my SX850 or SX950 most of the time. Non fatiguing and neutral sound is how I like to listen throughout most days.

Don’t get me wrong they respond well when you apply the spin to the volume knob.

Good luck in your search.
