Pioneer SX-950 that needs repair worth $40?

Would a Pioneer SX-950 that needs repair be worth $40? The owner says it keeps blowing the 6amp fuse. I'm thinking about taking a shot on it. Looks to be in nice physical condition.

Blowing fuses usually points to blown output transistors. Sounds repairable to me. $40 = worth it.

Fuse blowing (main 6A one) also a common thing with messed up bridge rectifiers. Ask me how I know. :D Cheap to fix and even the Rat Shack has some of the right ones or parts. YMMV though, but still $40...go, yes, go...

I was thinking the filter capacitors as having exp w antique radios if the filter caps were shorted,
the rectifier tube plates looked like the China syndrome.
