Pioneer sx3900 speaker relays where to get?

hi, relatively new here. I’ve read that others have experienced the same symptom as I am experiencing. My 3900 will cutout momentarily in the left channel for maybe 5-10 seconds, or it gets a bit staticky. It is within the unit as I have experienced it in phono, tuner, A and/or B, switched speakers around still left channel, and it is reflected in the volume meters. My questions, does anyone know a source for the speaker protection relays? Better yet, a well qualified person/place close to ohio to do the work on this unit?

I'd download the service manual to get the part number and then do a search for it on here. There should be plenty of threads listing replacement relays.

Hi,
Also be aware that the SX-3900 has 2 tape monitor switches that create a similar problem. The switches are actually on the main board under the function switch/equalizer board connected via linkages to the front panel lever. Not easy to get to and clean. I have found the only sure way is to remove the switches, dismantle them, clean the contacts and reassemble and reinstall. The speaker switches located in the back near the speaker connectors are also linkage connected to buttons on the front panel. The speaker relay is located on the driver board and requires removal of the driver/output board assembly to clean or replace. I suggest you Deox and clean those switches to make sure they aren't the issue, or you can confirm that it is the relay by tapping on the plastic case when the unit is running at low volume. Hwadphones are the best to hear the issue. Tap repititiously on the relay case and see if the volume goes up and down, dissappears and reappears. If that happens, its a dirty relay. They at times can be cleaned, but I believe they may be hard to find as they are a 4PST relay, similar to OMron G2R-2 which is a 2PDT relay. If the relay is the issue you may need to clean and repair it.

Thank you for the detail you offer here. I will consider the procedures, but not sure I want to go that deeply into the unit. I have experience in electro mechanical systems, and an associates degree in electronics (1985), but still a bit hesitant about digging into this receiver. Again, thank you for the info.
