Pioneer SX650 vs JVC A-X3?

Hello,
I have the opportunity to buy a Pioneer SX650 35wpc (70€) or a 1979 JVC A-X3 55wpc (50€).
Going to replace my Pioneer SA-500A (13 wpc).
It's for my low budget living room set, connecting to Bose 301 series 2 speakers (75W).

I'm not going to use the receiver part of the SX650. My sources are mainly hq streaming audio and vinyl and sometimes cd.

I love the Pioneer sound of my SA-500a, but am unknown with JVC. Both amps are well reviewed on HifiEngine.

Which would you recommend? And are the prices not too high?

Many thanks,
Lou

Neither will have the sonic signature of the SA-500. Pioneers from that era/series have a delicious warm tonal character, probably somewhat to blame on the germanium transistors used in them.

While the SX-650 might come closer to matching the sonics of the SA-500 in some ways, i cannot think of any reason why i would choose it over anything from the JVC A-X line. Simply put, that series of JVC integrated amplifier were very good.
