Pioneer SX727 Score!

I will open it up and take a look. I prefer my Kenwood 11. So if it plays fine, may flip it or play it until it shows symptoms of needing rebuilt. Lot of other radios in the pipeline. Have a MCS 3233 rebuilding now.
 
White LEDs makes the blue dial come to life along with new white vellum paper that yellows over the years.

Recapped a MCS 3253... nice NEC set.

You build a list and order from Mouser. I usually build a list, but I did the SX 727 from my stock (unfortunately).

Cap coupled sets usually impress me... and the SX 727 is no exception.
 
Maybe Vellem paper for a Marantz, but not on a PIONEER. Hate to burst your bubble, but hte 727 is DIRECT coupled, Not Cap coupled.

No complete kits for any of the 70's Solid State stuff that I've ever heard of. For some of the big name Tube stuff from the 60's, sure, but nothing for 70's S.S. gear. No market for it as it's considered a Niche Market.

Keneye; There is a Mouser list for the 727, however it's 9 years old. It will take some vetting by MTF (Mark the Fixer) or one of the other guys (mattsd, zebulon1,etc) to get it up to date, as some of the caps are either obsolete, or have been up dated to other brands, type. You are right - Larry. Get confused easy and have worked on so may sets over the last year... the SA-900 is cap coupled not the SX-727. Just finished 2270 & 2275 where I replaced the vellum on the dials - so you are likely right here as well. Sorry for the misinformation.
 
No problem....I have Brain Farts Daily. Just have to remind myself (staff mtgs) to look up stuff all the time. My Fiance thinks I'm crazy.
