Newbie here!

I am looking to restore the 'wood' on my Pioneer SX-780 and SX-680.

I am new to all things mechanical, but I am willing to give it a try..

Does anyone the panel dimensions they are willing to share? It is appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

(BTW...love this forum!)

I thought about it. New veneer looks awesome, but there is something cool about solid wood. Plus, I am looking forward to the challenge! Thanks!
I agree with you on that one. I built an oak case for my 680 a few years back. I used a table saw for all of the cuts except the cutout for the grille vent. I did that on a Bridgeport mill at work. I stained it and applied polyurethane.B9FC215F-547D-48C5-9A80-052862E7F2C5.png All in all, it turned out ok.

Has anyone put stk0059 darlingtons into an sx780? I have just done that on one channel and it is running. Wondering if it is a bad idea long term or anything else I should consider? Finding good vintage stk0059s was easier than stk0050s - so much bogus stuff out there.

I'll lay odds that there's a very voluminous representation of 59's in the ranks of the counterfeits.Good Luck.

I`ve been buying pulls for projects due to counterfeit craze. I saw an interesting thing on YouTube where a guy weighed the darlington, real ones were close to 30 grams and fakes closer to 20. Numbered pins, no printed number in the corner were a few other suggestions also cutouts near screws.
