Pioneer TT question

I recently acquired a near mint Pioneer PL-51 from the original owner. Original box (shipping label even addressed to the guy I bought it from lol!) manual, etc. It's cherry and I am loving it. I am wondering, though, if anyone can educate me a little on Pioneer's shift from the 51 to the 51A. How are they different? Production years? Features? Anything?

yes VE is a very good call and that was my starting point. the 51A is made from 1974-75, and i assume the 51 predates it, but besides the addition of the strobe, and minute spec differences, i can't really see much difference between the two.
