So I just picked up a Pioneer TX 6700 and everything seems to be in working order. The only thing that I cant seem to get working perfectly is the Muting On Switch. When the Muting switch is turned off the tuner is working fine.
So here's the deal, the Muting ON Switch works, but only when I am physically touching the switch! The red stereo light comes on and the sound comes out clear as day. As soon as I take my hand off the switch, the red light goes out, and radio turns off. Actually if I touch any metal part on the tuner it works (screws, faceplate).
I am wondering does this need to be grounded to my amplifier? Or do I need to connect something to the antennae?
Oh and also, I have it hooked up in my basement and I live in a small town in Northern Canada, we only have 1 radio station and the signal meter reads very low, could this be contributing?
